The province capital and port “Puntarenas” (destination for many cruise ships from all over the world) with more shopping possibilities and official offices are only 30 minutes away. The nearest beaches you can reach in 20 - 25 minutes. Esparza town is situated directly on the Panamericana-highway. From the property the highway access is 4 km or 2miles away. So it is also easy to reach different destinations, like the Central Valley; San Jose or the airports by car or bus. Due to the higher elevation of Esparza the temperatures are year-round very comfortable; warm but not to hot like directly on the beaches. CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: The house is of our own design and was built with all official plans of an assigned architect and all necessary official permission. During house planning we brought in the valuable Along with other details we put particular emphasis in the construction on the following: - Additional usage of structural steel -above the usual required amount. - Additional usage of almost double the quantity of high-quality cement for reaching the best concrete quality. All these above mentioned points are very important for the long-term quality of a home. High ceiling (living room is about 5,7 mts high) and a total surface roof isolation provide a pleasant indoor climate without air conditioning. The electrical connections for air conditioning systems are however present in the sleeping rooms. The home is equipped with high quality ceiling fans. The roof beams are made out of high quality teak (teak is resistant to insect attacks). All countertops in kitchen und bathrooms are out of first class granite. The stove has glass top burners. The oven is a separate built-in unit with a high grade steel front. Personal construction supervision: During the 8 month building process the German owner supervised all aspects of the construction. PROPERTY: The property dimension is 3,652 m2 (0,9 acres), totally fenced; located in the boundary region of the Finca “Campos Espamar”. The nearest neighbors are about 100 m away. Interesting for horse lovers: one neighbor nearby operates a horse stable. The property is on a hillside with a nice incline so that our sometimes strong rainfalls do not represent any problems. We selected this property because we know, from several years experience, that flat properties can be a big problem during the rainy season.
